Deca- or deka-[1] is an SI prefix (symbol da) in the SI system of units, also a numerical prefix (from Greek δέκα), denoting a factor of 101 or ten.

The prefix was a part of the original metric system in 1795. It is not in very common usage, although the decapascal is occasionally used by audiologists.

Before the symbol was standardized as da with the introduction of the SI in 1960, various other symbols were more common, such as "dk", "D", and "Da".

Notes:
1. The 1795 dates identify prefixes in use since the metric system was introduced. The other dates are not necessarily dates of first use, but rather the date of recognition by a resolution of the CGPM, which first met in 1889.
2. The micron was earlier recognized by the CGPM in 1948; that decision was abrogated in 1967-68.
