David Groh (born May 21, 1941) is an American actor best known for his portrayal of Joe Gerard in the mid-1970s Mary Tyler Moore spinoff series Rhoda opposite Valerie Harper.

Born in Brooklyn, Groh was the son of an architect and developed an early interest in art and period furniture. He attended Brooklyn Technical High School, then enrolled at Brown University, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a degree in English literature.

He performed with the American Shakespeare Festival, then went to Great Britain on a Fulbright scholarship. After returning to the States, he made his television debut in the Gothic daytime soap opera Dark Shadows in 1966, but fame eluded him until Rhoda. Following that show's demise he was offered his own series, the short-lived Another Day. He was a regular on General Hospital from 1983-85, and has appeared in Melrose Place, Law & Order, Baywatch, Murder, She Wrote, X-Files, and L.A. Law.

Groh made his Broadway debut in Neil Simon's Chapter Two in 1978. Additional New York City theatre credits include Be Happy for Me (1986), Road Show (1987), and The Twilight of the Golds (1993).

Groh is a serious collector of antique furniture and folk art [1], much of which he keeps in a second home in southern Connecticut. His main residence is in Santa Monica, California, where he lives with his wife Kristin and son Spencer from a previous marriage.

Most recently, Groh appears in a commercial for Sour Skittles in which he is being milked. When told by the dairy manager that his intake of Sour Skittles may be causing his milk to sour he replies, "That's a risk I'm willing to take."
