Bearing a similarity to his real life, the blond-haired actor's character was also a budding athlete, until a knee injury. After leaving the soap in 2002, Daniel travelled to the UK to be in a British production of the musical Godspell. After that he took on the role of PC Cameron Tait in the British drama The Bill, which he played from 2003 until 2004.
More recently he went back to Australia to present the Australian version of the singing contest, The X Factor. He also hosted a three part series called Killer Sharks on Australia's Network Ten in February 2006.
He is currently appearing in a British/Australian production entitled 'Tripping Over', appearing on Five (in the UK) and Network Ten (in Australia), also featuring ex-Neighbours co-star Brooke Satchwell, who played Anne Wilkinson.
Daniel has posed nude in two major magazines. One was for gay men's magazine Attitude and the Australian women's magazine Cleo.
His favourite English football club is Liverpool FC

Daniel has a younger sister called Brodie, a brother named Andrew and his parents recently divorced. His mother Anne is a jeweller and his father Keith is is a business broker and the principal of Claridges Business Sales.
Daniel starred two pantomimes at the Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury alongside Paul Hendy and Leila Birch.
Daniel's most recent TV role is as Simon Joyner in the new Channel 7 police drama City Homicide.
Daniel MacPherson was accepted into MENSA as a child.
