[edit] Plot
Raju (Govinda) an ordinary coolie working at a city bus-stand is desperately in search of a bride so that he can settle down in life. Meanwhile, elsewhere Choudhry Hoshiarchand Shikarpuri Baroodwala (Kader Khan) a lustful wealthy man showers insults upon Shadiram Gharjode (Sadashiv Amrapurkar) a match-maker over the fact that he brings poor people to seek his daughter Malti's (Karishma Kapoor) hand in marriage, saying that he would expect none less than millionaires to marry his daughters. Hit hard by this arrogance, the insulted Shadiram vows to take revenge on Choudhry by having him marry off his daughters to none other than ordinary men.
Fate has it that Shadiram comes across Raju coolie and shows him a picture of Malti as a potential bride. There is love at first sight for our Raju when he sees this picture. He tags along with his friend Deepak (Harish) a car mechanic in his quest to woo Malti's love under the guidance of Shadiram Gharjode. Being masters of disguise, they travel to Choudhry's village posing as Kuwar Mahinder Pratap of Singapore (Govinda) while Deepak and Shadiram disguise as his driver and manager respectively. They give out an impression of looking out for a location to setup their new factory and a railway station in the village, which is soon spotted by Goverdhan (Shakti Kapoor) who is Choudhry's brother-in-law. News about the arrival of these wealthy personalities in the village soon spreads to Choudhry and he starts fantasizing about the marriage of his daughter Malti with this Kuwar saab. Meanwhile, in the background there begins a secret attraction between Kuwar and Malti, and also between Deepak and Choudhry's other daughter Shalini (Kanchan). Slowly and steadily Choudhry gets consummated by Kuwar's material possessions, and blindly gets Malti married to Kuwar.
Life takes another turn when Raju has to return back to his real life of being a coolie at the bus-stand. Thus begins a web of lies that the trio (Raju, Shadiram, Deepak) spin inorder that Malti doesn't come to know of the real situation. They rent a big mansion that belongs to a wealthy NRI businessman (Kulbhushan Kharbanda) and claim it to be one of their own. But, things get more complicated when Choudhry plans to pay his daughter a visit, and notices his son-in-law Kuwarji working as a coolie at the bus-stand and he just can't believe his eyes. He comes to the conclusion that he and his daughter have been conned for good by this Kuwar imposter. This gives rise to new web of lies where Raju has to lead a double life of a Kuwar Mahinder Pratap as well as of Raju coolie a futile twin of the Kuwar. So good are the convincing powers of Raju in his twin role, that Choudhry begins to believe that he can get Raju to mend his ways and get him to marry his second daughter Shalini so that both his daughters are married to millionaires by inheritance.
Meanwhile, in the scope of all this role playing Raju witnesses the murder attempt on Kulbhushan Kharbanda at his mansion by his very son over some property issues. Raju gets framed in this case as a suspect by Kulbhushan Kharbanda's son and manager, who in fact are the real culprits. This causes Raju (Kuwarji) to be on the run rather than be in prison under the false allegation of attempted murder. As a result of Choudhry and Malti filing a missing persons complaint at the police station, a search headed by area inspector (Tiku Talsania) to seek Kuwar Mahinder Pratap ensues. Around the same time, Choudhry puts two and two together and the fact that Kuwarji and Raju are indeed one and the same person lights upon him, and its a double whammy when he realizes that his second daughter Shalini is pregnant. Now Choudhry plans to get rid of this baby which he thinks is of a non-existent second heir to the Singapore khandaan. But, since Deepak mechanic knows that it his his baby, he doesn't want it to be aborted, and hence he along with Raju coolie dressup as female nurses from Singapore to get an entry into the hospital where Choudhry and Shalini are visiting. Coincidently, it is the same hospital where Kulbhushan Kharbanda is recuperating from his murder attempt. It is at the same time his evil son also arrives at the spot to try and re-assassinate his father before he spills the beans to the police. Raju and Deepak come to know of this and there is a thrilling chase and a fight which lands the real perpetrators into jail. Impressed by their courage in saving his life Kulbhushan Kharbanda gifts away his mansion to Raju and Deepak, and owns them up them as his children, thus making them automatic millionaires. This pleases Choudhry to no ends that finally his daughters have millionare husbands. At this time, Shadiram Gharjode blows his own cover off and surprises Choudhry with the fact that all this was a game plan to teach him a lesson. This makes Choudhry realize what a fool he was for being blinded by his lust for wealth, which had almost cost him the happiness of his daughters.
