[edit] Early Life
Chiranjeevi was born on 22 August, 1955 in Narsapur, a small village in the Godavari District in Andhra Pradesh to Sri Venkat Rao and Anjana Devi. He grew up in his native village with his grand parents, while his family was else where because of his father's occupation.[citation needed]Chiranjeevi has two sisters and two brothers. His first brother, Nagendra Babu is a film producer and a film actor. His second brother, Pawan Kalyan is a Telugu film actor.
After graduation, Chiranjeevi moved to Madras to seek a career in his chosen field of acting in the Film Industry. To get himself ready for the stage, he joined in an acting school in Madras. After struggling for some time, he took to acting by appearing in small roles in films like Pranam Kareedu and Punadhi Rallu. Chiranjeevi got married to Surekha, the daughter of veteran actor sri Allu Ramalingaiah. The couple have three children - two daughters Sushmita and Srija and a son, Ram Charan Teja, who now is also an actor.
In October 1998 he started a charity called Chiranjeevi Eye & Blood Bank and Charitable Trust to give back to the people whatever he could on the humanitarian ground thus demonstrating a new dimension in his personality.
[edit] Career
His first film, Pranam Khareedu, was released in September 1978 and after 10 years of his first film, his 100th film, Trinetrudu, was released in September 1988.
Since then, Chiranjeevi has appeared in primarily Telugu language films and is considered the numero uno of telugu industry. Several of his films have been dubbed into Hindi and Tamil.
