Category:Country subdivisions
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A subnational entity is an administrative region within a country on an arbitrary level below that of the sovereign state (for example, such includes detached territories and possessions governed as part of a nation state and thus internationally from elsewhere) typically with a local government encompassing multiple municipalities, counties, or provinces with a certain degree of autonomy.
Country subdivision is a closely related political division referring to the divisions of a country's territory for the sake of its administration, description or other such purpose. The resulting units of division are known generically as "country subdivisions".
