Capricorn is an astrological sign, which originated from the constellation Capricornus, and is the tenth sign of the zodiac. Capricorn is classed as a Negative or feminine, introverted sign; its element is Earth and its Quality is Cardinal. [1] Traditionally in astrology Capricorn is ruled by the planet Saturn. The opposite sign to Capricorn is Cancer. Under the tropical zodiac, Capricorn is occupied by the Sun from December 22 to January 19, and under the sidereal zodiac, it is currently from January 15 to February 12. In House (astrology) the 10th House is the house the Capricorn rules, and dates occupied for the House is occupied on April 20 to May 20. The corresponding month in the Babylonian calendar is Arax Ṭebêtum,, dedicated to Pap-sukkal, the messenger of the gods. It is the least common encountered zodiac sign.
In astrology the astrological signs of the twelve houses equal segments or divisions of the zodiac. According to astrological beliefs, celestial phenomena reflect or govern human activity on the principle of "as above, so below", so that the twelve signs at the same time are held to represent twelve basic personality types or characteristic modes of expression.[2] The scientific community generally considers astrology as a pseudoscience or superstition.[3][4] ; yet despite this, belief in astrology remains widespread.[5][6][7][8]

Capricorn is associated with the Greek myth of the goat Amalthea, who provided the infant Zeus with milk, or ambrosia in some versions. Zeus placed her in the sky to honor her (Catasterismi). Capricorn is also associated with the god Saturn and the god Aristaeus.
The Babylonian zodiacal sign is called šaxû "ibex". The sun in this month entered the suxûru-fish constellation, called the star of Tashmetum, the wife of Nabu. The goat-fish is known from depictions on Babylonian monuments.[9] Also linked to the Greek God, Pan.
The astrological symbol for Capricorn is said to represent the horns and tail of the goat-fish or sea-goat.

Suitable occupations are where responsible, patient and economising qualities can be exercised; such as scientist, engineer, manager, civil servant, mathematician, farmer, builder, politician, director. In medical astrology Capricorn governs the knees and skeleton.

Astrologers believe that each sign of the zodiac has identifiable physical traits that manifest themselves in the ascendant, which is different from the sun sign. Physically, individuals born with an ascendant of Capricorn supposedly tend to have dark hair, steady eyes, a light caramel complexion, capable hands, and prominent cheekbones. Men tend to be thin, and women curvy and feminine
