Kolkata is an administrative district of the Indian state of West Bengal. It contains the center part of the city of Kolkata. Other parts of the city and suburban areas can be found in the districts of North 24 Parganas, South 24 Parganas, Howrah, Hooghly and Nadia. The area is under the administration of Kolkata Municipal Corporation.
