CUNY Graduate School of Journalism

The City University of New York Graduate School of Journalism is a graduate school of the City University of New York (CUNY) in New York City that confers a Master of Arts degree in journalism. The school opened in August 2006 with 57 students, and is located at 230 West 40th Street in the former building of the New York Herald Tribune. The dean of the school is Stephen B. Shepard.

The school hosts the NYCity News Service, which provides student-produced works of journalism at no cost to community newspapers and other media throughout New York City.

The school was designed by Thomson Architects PC. Special attention was paid to converged media outlets as well as transparency of information. The project was considered a "Fast Track" project, alluding to the short period of time between project kickoff and project completion.
