Bishop Rawstorne C of E Language College

Bishop Rawstorne C of E Language College is a school is situated in Croston, in the borough of Chorley, Lancashire. There are around 950 students in this school ranging from ages of 11 to 16. The first year is called Year 7 and the last year is called Year 11, when the students can leave to attend college, get a modern apprenticeship or get employment.
All students are separated into tutor groups of around 30, which are lead by a person called the tutor. The tutor takes the register each day and cares for the pupils during their five years at the school. The tutors are called A, B, C, H, M, X, such as 9H or 11C.
The school consists of around 50 to 60 rooms, split over various blocks:
- Main Block
- English and Media Studies Block
- Science Block
- Technology Block
- Sports and Fitness Block
- Administration Block (Which includes the main reception and library)
The main block consists of different departments and rooms such as:
- Hall
- Café
- Humanities Department (Which includes history, geography and RE)
- Mathematics Department
- Music Department
- Languages Department
- Gym (With changing rooms)

The school has two bands, which are both well known throughout the North West. The first band is a regular school band, which only current students of the college are allowed to attend, and the second is a higher-level jazz band called RawJazz, where former students (who have been to the college previously) are allowed to participate. Both have a lot of concerts every year, including a concert at the Preston Guild Hall every February, and another at The Southport Floral Hall in July. 3 teachers at the school are directly involved in the goings-on of both bands - Mr Donnelly, a music teacher and conductor of both bands, Mr Willsher, also a music teacher who plays the trumpet and drums, and Mr Sprake, a maths teacher who plays the trumpet.

The Uniform consists of a navy blue V-Neck jumper with the college crest for both girls and boys from year 7 - year 10. Blue trousers and a white shirt is worn. The school tie is navy blue with yellow, light blue and red stripes. Girls may also wear a skirt.
In year 11, the school jumper and trouser/ skirt colour is black.
