The World Famous Beat Junkies is a Hip hop crew of (predominantly Filipino-American) hip hop DJs. Established in 1992 in Orange County, California by J-Rocc. The group comprises Rhettmatic (also of The Visionaries), DJ Babu (also of Dilated Peoples), Melo-D, "DJ What?!", Mr. Choc, Icy Ice, Curse, D-Styles and Shortkut (also of The Invisibl Skratch Piklz). [1]

As individuals or as a crew, they have accomplished many feats that few DJ's have ever reached; winning many prestigious DJ battles and competitions like the DMC, the Supermen, & the ITF competitions and going to world tour exhibitions. They have traveled and performed across the U.S.A. as well as Japan, Germany, Amsterdam, and Canada. [2]

The Beat Junkies as a Crew and individually have also featured in many other acts alongside artists such as Jurassic 5, The Visionaries, The Likwit Junkies with Defari, Phil Da Agony, Cypress Hill, Peanut Butter Wolf, The Invisibl Skratch Piklz and Dilated Peoples.

[edit] The Crew

The Beat Junkies originated around the Bay area of California, The Group was established in 1992 by J-Rocc[1]. The original members included Curse, Rhettmatic, Melo-D, Icy Ice, Symphony, & What?!, Later to be added where, Shortkut, D-Styles, Red-Jay, Havik, & Tommy Gun who joined in late 1992. DJ Babu joined the Junkies by late 1993, the newest member is currently Mr. Choc who was added to the crew in early 1996.
