The Battle of Ruspina was fought on January 4, 46 BC between the forces of Julius Caesar and the Pompeian forces of Titus Labienus. Labienus, who had been a supporter of Caesar but defected, won the battle by sheer numbers. Caesar lost nearly one-third of his army.
