Philip IV of Spain and III of Portugal and his first wife,
Elisabeth of Bourbon. He was born on
17 October 1629 in
Madrid, and died
9 October 1646 in
Zaragoza at the age of sixteen. He bore the titles
Prince of Asturias and
Prince of Portugal.
Prince Baltasar Carlos was depicted in a number of portraits by Diego de Velázquez.
