Ballyhale

Ballyhale (Baile Héil in Irish) is a village in County Kilkenny in Ireland. It is south of the city of Kilkenny.

It is roughly half way between Kilkenny City and Waterford City. The N9 and N10 National Primary Routes meet just north of the village, and south of neighbouring village Knocktopher.

The local Gaelic Athletic Association club - Ballyhale Shamrocks GAA are one of the most successful clubs in County Killkenny. Senior County Hurling Champions in 1978, 1979, 1980, 1982, 1983, 1985, 1988, 1989, 1991 and 2006. They were runners up in 1984, 1986, 1987 and 2005 They have also been All-Ireland Club Hurling Champions in 1981, 1984, 1990 and 2007. They have also been Senior County Gaelic football Champions in 1979, 1980 and 1982.
