Baldwin Vista, Los Angeles, California

Baldwin Vista is a district in the South Los Angeles community of Baldwin Hills. Baldwin Vista's small population is primarily African-American[citation needed] and typically affluent. Baldwin Vista and other surrounding geography are named for the famous 19th century land baron and horse racing pioneer, Elias J. "Lucky" Baldwin.
Karen Bass, the California State Assembly Assemblywoman for the 47th District and majority floor leader for the California Democratic Party, lives in Baldwin Vista.
