Baby Bob is a sitcom that aired on CBS as a midseason replacement in 2002. It centered around the Spencer family, and the parents and grandparents who learn that their six-month-old son, Bob, can talk.

The Baby Bob character was not new when the series debuted. In fact, he had been on television for over a year beforehand, appearing in commercials for dotcom companies. While actual infants played Bob, the effect to make him look like he was talking was achieved through computer editing.

Though it began with respectable ratings[1], the show was a critical failure, and the show's novelty quickly wore off. The season came to an abrupt end after eight episodes, though fourteen were produced. The remaining episodes remained un-aired for over a year until CBS showed them in summer 2003 [2]. After the show's run ended, the Baby Bob character was kept under wraps until 2005, when he returned to television in a series of commercials for Quiznos Sub.
