Avanti Air is an airline based in Burbach, Siegen-Wittgenstein, Germany. It operates ad hoc charter services and wet-leases worldwide and aircraft and fleet management services. Its main base is Siegerland Airport (SGE).[1]

The airline was established in 1994 and started operations on 1 July 1994. It was founded by former pilots Markus Baumann (now Managing Director) and Stefan Kissinger (now Chief Executive) as an aircraft management company. It entered the charter market in 1996 with two Raytheon Beech 1900C aircraft. The company is owned by Gerhard Mahler (50%), Markus Baumann (25%) and Stefan Kissinger (25%) and has 72 employees.[1]

Avanti Air, on behalf of Meridiana operate services between Sicily and Lampedusa and Pantelleria. The contract has been extended to March 2007.[citation needed]
