Audiovox Corporation (NASDAQ: VOXX) is a leading international supplier and value added service provider in the consumer electronics industry. The Company markets mobile and consumer electronics products under the Audiovox brand name and other brand names such as Acoustic Research, Advent, Code Alarm, Jensen, and Terk, as well as private labels through a global distribution network. It also functions as an OEM supplier to a wide variety of customers, through several distinct distribution channels.
On December 21, 2006, Thomson SA agreed to sell its consumer electronics accessory business, including rights to the RCA name on such products, to Audiovox.[1]
On October 16 2007, Thomson SA agreed to sell its consumer electronics audio video business outside Europe including the worldwide rights to the RCA Brand for consumer electronics audio video products[2]
