Main article: Tupac Shakur

Tupac Amaru Shakur (June 16, 1971September 13, 1996), also known by his stage names 2Pac, Makaveli, or simply as 'Pac, was an American artist renowned for his rap music, movie roles, poetry, and his social activism. He is recognized in the Guinness Book of World Records as the best selling hip-hop artist, with over 80 million of his albums sold worldwide [1] including over 50 million sales in the United States alone. Most of Shakur's songs are about growing up around violence and hardship in ghettos, racism, problems in society, and sometimes his feuds with fellow rappers. Shakur's work is known for advocating political, economic, social, and racial equality as well as his raw descriptions of violence, drug and alcohol abuse, and conflicts with the law. Many fans, critics, and industry insiders rank him as the greatest rapper ever.[2][3]

[edit] Controversy

Many of Shakur's fans would like to see Shakur's original music released by Amaru Entertainment in its original form and released as Tupac had intended it to be released when the music was recorded. Such albums as Loyal to the Game and Pac's Life have been a serious let down for the fans of Tupac Shakur.

Another problem with the remixes that Amaru Entertainment seem to make available is the fact the original featured artists are now being replaced for today's artists that never worked with Shakur and rap with a different style, This is a huge problem and takes out the natural feel of a 2pac album. Not only are today's remixes featuring people Tupac did not know, also the producers that have been used on these last two albums produced beats that Tupac would have never rapped over.
