Alexandra Aikhenvald

Alexandra Yurievna Aikhenvald (Russian, born 1957) is a professor at and associate director of the Research Centre for Linguistic Typology at La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia. She is a specialist in Arawak language family (including Tariana), which is spoken in the Brazilian Amazon basin, and has published work on Berber languages, Modern and Classical Hebrew, Ndu languages (Eastern Sepik, Papua-New Guinea), alongside a number of articles and monographs on various aspects of linguistic typology.
