Alan John

Alan John, born May 7, 1958, Sydney, is an Australian composer. He studied music at the University of Sydney, graduating in 1980. His compositions include original music for various plays, films (such as Three Dollars and The Bank)and TV series (including Love My Way), and the musical theatre works Jonah Jones and Orlando Rourke. His most recent work is the musical Snugglepot and Cuddlepie for the Sydney Festival 2007 at the Theatre Royal.

His opera, The Eighth Wonder, was produced by Opera Australia in 1995 and revived in 2000. He has four children, Peter, Hannah, Vincent and Francis.
