Adam Makowicz

Adam Makowicz (born Adam Matyszkowicz August 18 1940 in Gnojnik, Germany[1]) is a Polish pianist living in Toronto[2], who plays mostly jazz. Besides playing solo, he has worked with such musicians as Michał Urbaniak and Leszek Możdżer. His technical mastery has been compared to that of Art Tatum and Errol Garner, among others.

  1. ^ Hnojník (Gnojnik) village lies in Zaolzie. This territory was annexed in 1938 by Poland and after 1939 German Invasion of Poland it became a part of Nazi Germany. After World War II it became again a part of Czechoslovakia (now Czech Republic).
