As-Salam Al Malaki (The Royal Salute) is the national anthem of Saudi Arabia. It praises God and asks that he will grant the King of Saudi Arabia long life. The words of the song were written by Ibrahim Khafaji (b. 1935) and the music was by Abdul Rahman Al-Khateeb (b. 1923). It was adopted as the national anthem in 1950.

Sār‘ī le l-majd wa l-‘alyā',
Majjedī le Khāleq as-Samā'!
Wa arfa‘ī el khaffāq akhḍḍar
Yaḥmil an-Nūr al-musaṭṭar
Raddedi: Allahu akbar,
Yā mawtanī!
Mawtanī, qad ‘išta fakhr al-Muslimīn
‘Āsh al-Malik le l-‘alam wa l-watan![1]
Hasten to glory and supremacy,
Glorify the Creator of the heavens!
And raise the green flag
Carrying the emblem of Light,
Repeating: God is the greatest,
O my country!
My country, you have lived the glory of Muslims!
Long live the King for the flag and the country![1]
