- 11 March - Morgan Tsvangirai, politician and leader of the Movement for Democratic Change, is arrested and seriously beaten while in a Harare prison.
- 12th March - Morgan Tsvangirai the opposition leader of MDC was arrested and shot in the head. He received a skull fracture, broken wrist and bruises.
- 13th March - Talks continue about Morgan’s arrest, due to the planning of a protest against President Robert Mugabe’s Government. Over 200 injured.
- 14th March - Two female officers were seriously injured in a fire-bombed attack on a police station in Harare.
- 15th March - President Robert Mugabe made a statement about western criticism of his regime; ‘ When they criticise the government when it tries to prevent violence and punish perpetrators of that violence we take the position that they can go hang.’
- 16th March - It was said to be possible that Australian citizens were to ‘evacuate’ Zimbabwe.
- 17th March - 4 ranking members of MDC were refused permission to leave the country. Nelson was attacked while leaving the airport, now has a fractured skull.
- 18th March - Nelson remain in hospital. He made a statement saying Zimbabwe is not a safe place.
- 19th March - Mr Tsvangirai was allowed out of hospital today.
- 20th March - Police continue to stop protested around Zimbabwe. Many injured.
- 21st March - Zambia President Levy Mwanawasa stated the situation in Zimbabwe “to a sinking titanic whose passengers are jumping out in a bid to save their lives”. The United States Ambassador to Zimbabwe , Christopher Dell, said that the country’s people had “turned corner” and were “losing their fear”.
- 22nd March - The Roman Catholic Archbishop of Bulawayo, Pius Ncube, called for mass public protest to bring pressure to bear on President Robert Mugabe to resign.
- 23rd March - The Prime Minister of Australia John Howard called for the world to work towards ousting Mugabe.
- 24th March - Nelson was sent home today from the hospital after the attack at the airport.
- 25th March - President Robert Mugabe still stands talk and has no hesitating to resign.
- September - Representatives for MDC and ZANU-PF met in South Africa and agreed to constitutional changes that will allow presidential and palimantary elections to be held simultaneously in 2008.
