- 3 January - In London, in what becomes known as the Siege of Sidney Street, the Metropolitan Police and the Scots Guards engage in a shootout with a criminal gang of Latvian anarchists held up in a building in the East End.
- 14 June - Liverpool General Transport Strike begins.
- 22 June - Coronation of George V of the United Kingdom and Mary of Teck at Westminster Abbey, London.
- 13 July - The future Edward VIII of the United Kingdom is invested as Prince of Wales in a ceremony at Caernarfon Castle, devised by David Lloyd George.
- 9 August - Raunds, Northamptonshire records a temperature of 98°F (36.7°C), the highest UK temperature until 1990.
- 10 August - British MPs vote to receive salaries for the first time. [1]
- 17 August - During a railway strike in Llanelli, two men are shot dead by police.
- 20 September - The liner RMS Olympic, sister ship to the RMS Titanic, collides with Royal Navy cruiser HMS Hawke outside Southampton.
