Zaldy Ampatuan (August 22 1967) was elected Governor of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao on August 8, 2005. He is a member of the Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats.

On December 8, 2007, P1,000 bills rained at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) when 2 Mindanao governors played Santa Claus. Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao Gov. Zaldy Ampatuan and his father Maguindanao Gov. Andal Ampatuan distributed the bills near the VIP lounge, before a 5:20 p.m. flight for Jeddah, Saudi Arabia for “30 to 40 minutes."[1]
