Snap fastener (male and female discs)
A snap fastener (also called snap, popper, and press stud) is a pair of interlocking discs commonly used in place of buttons to fasten clothing. Composed of 2 pairs of parts, generally Button & Socket and Stud & Eyelet (sometimes referred to as Post) but in double button arrangements, Button & Socket and Stud & Button. Snaps can be attached to material by hammering (using a specific punch and die set), plying, or sewing. For plying snap fasteners, there are special snap pliers.
