Deuces Wild is a 2002 action / drama / crime film directed by Scott Kalvert and written by Paul Kimatian and Christopher Gambale. It stars Stephen Dorff, Brad Renfro, and Fairuza Balk amongst others. The film is set in 1958 New York.

It is believed that this film is strongly based on a 1961 gangster musical film West Side Story, except for two differences. First, the Jets are being replaced by the Deuces and the Sharks are being replaced by the Vipers. Secondly, unlike West Side Story, Deuces Wild is not a musical.[citation needed]

Tagline: Before gangs had guns... they fought with guts.

Leon (Dorff) and Bobby (Renfro) are brothers and also part of the Deuces, a street gang in Brooklyn. Ever since their brother overdosed on drugs, they made an effort to keep drugs off their streets. Their rival gang, the Vipers, are a threat to their mission and a gang war is about to erupt.
