[edit] Acting Career

Darren was cast in London’s West End production of Les Miserables in 1996 where he met writer / actor Chris Langham, who re-wrote a lead role for Darren to co-star in the BBC comedy sitcom Kiss Me Kate (1998), opposite Amanda Holden. Kiss Me Kate ran for three years and established Darren as new comedy talent in the UK. This led to starring roles in popular British comedies such as Hippies (1999) and Smack the Pony (1999),

In 2001, Darren and Victoria Pile creator of Smack The Pony, collaborated on a new show Los Dos Bros, a quirky, off-beat sitcom which explored physical comedy in the vein of Buster Keaton and Laurel and Hardy. Darren was co-creator, co-writer and winner of a Silver Rose for Best Sitcom at Montreux 2002. During this time Darren was cast as Ben Radfield in NBC ensemble comedy Watching Ellie produced by and starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus. Other cast included Steve Carell and Peter Stormare.

Darren has also done a series of dramatic roles such as The Legend of the Tamworth Two (2004), Love Soup (2005) and Canadian TV series ReGenesis.

Other feature films include High Heels and Low Lifes (2002) Imagine Me & You (2005) and Magicians (2007).

Darren also played Dr. Jake Leaf in the second series of Green Wing (2006), as well as Walton in the Canadian comedy The Jane Show and was recently seen opposite Steve Coogan in the second series of BBC’S Saxondale and soon to be starring in upcoming Channel 4 pilot "Ladies and Gentlemen (TV series)" written by "Sam Bain" and "Jesse Armstrong" and ITV pilot "Bike Squad" . He is currently filming "Christmas At The Riviera" for ITV and will soon begin filming "May Contain Nuts", also for ITV and directed by John Henderson.
